The latest edition of AEW Dynamite for January 8, 2020 took place at the Landers Center in Southaven, MS.

Here is a recap of the most noteworthy highlights from this episode for those who might have missed it:

— Hangman Adam Page and Kenny Omega and defeated Private Party by pinfall. Following the match, PAC attacked Michael Nakazawa because he wants his rubber match with Omega.

— Riho retained the AEW Women's World Championship over Kris Statlander by pinfall in a messy situation that saw The Nightmare Collective interfering against both of them during the match. Hikaru Shida, Big Swole and Sonny Kiss came out to help after the match, but Britt Baker, who was also ringside, didn't bother.

— Sammy Guevara defeated Christopher Daniels by pinfall. The Dark Order attempted to recruit Daniels to their ranks, but he decided not to join them. They attacked and The Young Bucks and the rest of SCU came out to help fight them off.

— Cody and Dustin Rhodes defeated The Lucha Brothers by pinfall. After the match, MJF had a promo segment with DDP. The Butcher, The Blade and The Bunny along with Wardlow made it too much for DDP to fight them off until QT Marshall and Dustin Rhodes came out to help. Next week, Marshall, Rhodes and DDP will face MJF, The Butcher and The Blade.

Jurassic Express defeated Best Friends by pinfall.

— After teasing that he would join The Inner Circle, Jon Moxley turned down the offer, smashed a bottle over Chris Jericho's head, gave him and Sammy Guevara a Paradigm Shift and booked it with the keys to the Ford GT.
