Tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite (January 15, 2025) is the MAXIMUM CARNAGE special airing out of the Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio!
This show is scheduled to feature a Women's Casino Gauntlet Match to determine who gets the next shot at the AEW Women's World Championship and will face Mariah May at AEW Grand Slam Australia on February 15th. Kris Statlander has the advantage of being the first entrant, after defeating Willow Nightingale and Toni Storm last week in a three-way match. No other participants have been fully announced. Also on the lineup is Christian Cage against HOOK (who seeks to get vengeance on The Patriarchy after they had attacked his father, Taz, who is back on the commentary team and will likely get involved in some fashion), a trios match between The Hurt Syndicate and Private Party with Mark Briscoe, Kenny Omega back in AEW action against "The Machine" Brian Cage of The Don Callis Family, a message from Ricochet, and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defending his title against Men's Casino Gauntlet winner Powerhouse Hobbs.
This post will be updated frequently throughout the episode to reflect live coverage of all the results including all the match winners, breakdowns of promo segments, and anything else interesting or noteworthy that happens, so keep refreshing starting at 8 p.m. on TBS and get the most up-to-date information!
Here are your results for AEW Maximum Carnage Dynamite:
- Kenny Omega defeated Brian Cage by pinfall with a One-Winged Angel. After the match, Lance Archer and Kyle Fletcher went after Omega, double-teaming him until Will Ospreay came out to make the save. Konosuke Takeshita then came out and the numbers of The Don Callis Family were too much for Omega and Ospreay to overcome.
- Ricochet came out for a promo and was hit in the back with a chair from Prince Nana. Swerve Strickland also came out to go after Ricochet, who ran off.
- A video package spotlighted Mercedes Mone.
- The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP) defeated Private Party (Zay and Quen) and Mark Briscoe by pinfall as Benjamin pinned Quen.
- MJF and Jeff Jarrett had an in-ring promo together, trash talking each other over a variety of topics. MJF called Jarrett the pro wrestling grim reaper who kills promotions, ragged on his alcoholism and his wife, Karen. Jarrett said competing in the Owen Hart Cup last year woke something up in him, called MJF an entitled prick, lazy, and scared of becoming a one hit wonder. MJF started to insult Owen Hart, saying Jarrett is riding the coattails of his deceased friend and is a carny succubus, which was enough for Jarrett to strike him and temporarily brawl until they were separated.
- HOOK defeated Christian Cage by disqualification after the rest of The Patriarchy got involved. Samoa Joe then came out to help HOOK fight them off.
- Dustin Rhodes interrupted an interview between Renee Paquette and Jeff Jarrett to say MJF's words pissed him off. He's 110% behind Jarrett and wants him to fulfill this dream of becoming AEW world champion. Friedman doesn't know everything they've been through and gotten up from, so whatever MJF does to Jarrett, Rhodes knows Jeff's already gone through it. Outlaws never die. They are the very last of their kind.
- Toni Storm won the Women's Casino Gauntlet by pinning Julia Hart. In order of entrance, the participants were Kris Statlander, Jamie Hayter, Megan Bayne, Julia Hart, Willow Nightingale, Toni Storm, and Harley Cameron.
- Singles Match for the AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) retained over Powerhouse Hobbs by submission. After the match, Death Riders continued to beat down on Hobbs, targeting his surgically repaired knee with a steel chair. Cope and FTR came out to run them off, but the damage has been done.
