AEW Star Chris Jericho Shares His Thoughts On Tony Khan's Bizarre Social Media Tirades

With AEW President Tony Khan still coming under fire for some downright bizarre activity on social media, veteran pro wrestler Chris Jericho has now chimed in on whether someone needs to take his phone.

AEW President Tony Khan has always been pretty outspoken on social media and has a pretty unique way of conversing with fans. The executive is a typical eccentric billionaire, but also a massive pro wrestling fan who is clearly having a blast running his own company.

However, after NXT recently crushed AEW Dynamite in the ratings when the two shows went head-to-head for the first time since 2021, Khan didn't take it well. In a bizarre Twitter/X tirade, he took aim at Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon, John Cena, The Undertaker, and even WWE fans!

His posts (largely unfunny and crass "jokes") didn't generate the response he expected and Khan later attempted to explain his hatred for WWE by saying it was down to them allegedly contract tampering with top AEW talent while his mother was in the hospital last year.

Rumour has it that many people within AEW believe someone should take Tony's phone from him, but Chris Jericho isn't among them.

"I learned years ago that bosses are going to be bosses, and billionaires are going to be billionaires. I've been working for billionaires for 25 years at this point," he told The Messenger"You can't control Tony Khan. He's going to do what he wants to do and God bless him. He created this company. He runs this company."

"He also grew up in the social media era. He got into wrestling via message boards online. He's always going to be attuned to that."

"So, you know, who cares, man? He can say what he wants," Jericho added. "I'm not going to tell him, 'Take your phone away,' because he's my boss. Say what you want. Whatever. I think it'd be worse if I said that stuff because I'm not the boss, you know? Tony Khan owns AEW. He can do what he wants. I'm not going to tell him no."

We're not saying this is the case with Jericho, but there's a belief among some people that AEW's veteran talents are all too aware that Tony is a mark and are playing along with him until the company goes the way of TNA.

It's become clear he's not quite cut out to be a booker, anyway, and while he seems to have an endless cash source thanks to his father, the AEW President can only keep a sinking ship above water for so long, particularly in the midst of declining ratings.

Hopefully, Tony does have some good advisors around him who can help him get things back on track...and advise him to put his phone down for a while.
