Cody Defeats Lance Archer At AEW DOUBLE OR NOTHING To Become First Ever TNT Champion

After months of buildup, Cody and Lance Archer finally faced-off one-on-one at Double or Nothing in the finals of the TNT Championship Tournament.

The Murderhawk Monster has been tearing through All Elite Wrestling ever since making his debut, and would have been the favorite against pretty much any other opponent. However, becoming the first ever TNT Champion was clearly engineered for The American Nightmare (since he can never challenge for the AEW Title again), and, as expected, he emerged victorious.

Archer physically dominated most of the match, but just couldn't find an answer for Cody's stamina and determination. Shenanigans from Jake Roberts and Arn Anderson also worked against Lance, who allowed himself to be distracted when Mike Tyson stopped "The Snake" from bringing his pet reptile to the ring.

Cody then took full advantage, hitting a trio of CrossRhodes to hand Archer his first loss in AEW and become the first ever TNT Champion.
