Tonight’s episode of AEW Dark returns with Cody Rhodes headlining the event.

Despite suffering a minor setback in his tag team match with Darby Allin against Shawn Spears and Sammy Guevara, the Georgia native has been on a roll since then. Rhodes successfully defeated his former friend in the first-round of the TNT Championship Tournament and now, the AEW Executive Vice President is simply waiting to see if he’ll fight either Darby Allin or Sammy Guevara in the semi-finals of the eight-man tournament.

In the meantime, Rhodes will take on virtual unknown Joe Alonzo. Rhodes has fought big names such as Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Kazuchika Okada, so the match-up against the rookie could easily be a warm-up to him. However, we've seen what over confidence can do to a wrestler in the past, will Alonzo shock the world by scoring an upset victory over Rhodes tonight?

Several weeks ago, Anna Jay had a strong outing against Hikaru Shida that ultimately got her a contract with All Elite Wrestling; The AEW newcomer is surely looking to get into the top five of the ranking system, but Penelope Ford currently stands in her way.

While Ford suffered a loss in a wild four-way match on the March 18th episode of Dynamite, Ms. Superbad scored a big win over former AEW Women’s Champion Riho during her last appearance on Dark. Will the newcomer get the best of Penelope Ford tonight?

AEW Dark will air tonight at 6CT/7ET on the AEW Youtube Page.
