In recent months, Christian Cage has established himself as one of AEW's best heels. Whether it's taking aim at his fellow wrestlers' dead parents or simply being a despicable SOB, the current TNT Champion is on a roll.
With WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland/Edge now part of the company, the former tag team (and occasional rivals) being reunited makes all the sense in the world. During this past weekend's AEW WrestleDream PPV, the duo shared the ring when Copeland saved Sting, but where do they go from here?
Last night's episode of AEW Dynamite was headlined by an in-ring segment with Adam which saw him make his interest in the AEW World Championship known.
From there, he named the likes of Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega, Miro, Powerhouse Hobbs, Jay White, and Juice Robinson as wrestlers he hopes to face down the line but reiterated that his main reason for signing with AEW was after his daughter suggested he go have fun with her Uncle Jay.
The TNT Champion made his way to the ring and gave Copeland the chance to reflect on their friendship and explain his actions at AEW WrestleDream. He wanted to stop Cage from making a terrible mistake and seemed to reference his past with The Judgement Day when he suggested Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne will eventually drop him when they've got what they wanted.
Suggesting they reunite to face the likes of FTR and The Young Bucks, things looked good as they embraced in a hug...only for Cage to tell Copeland that he should "go f*** yourself." With that, he reminded his old friend that, next week, he'll have to face Luchasaurus.
We're intrigued to see where this is heading and are sure Edge and Christian will once again share the ring as tag team partners...eventually.
