Could Jojo Offerman be all elite soon?
The wife of the late Bray Wyatt made waves in wrestling when she did a special guest announcement spot for the January 4 episode of Collision. The appearance was for a dark match as Jojo never made an onscreen television appearance for Collision. News has been running rampant about the former WWE star joining the AEW.
According to Sean Ross Sapp, that’s likely to come to fruition soon as Jojo is expected to make more appearances for AEW. A contract hasn’t been made official just yet nor is it confirmed that her role would be directly announcing, but all signs point to Jojo returning to AEW sometime soon.
The news is quite a shock as many assumed that Jojo was still with WWE. She made her debut with the company when she was just 19 years old. She was a rookie who saw some screen time as one of the main cast members of Total Divas. The 30-year-old never wrestled as her role was morphed into announcing; Jojo became a regular for RAW, Smackdown, and pay-per-views until 2018. She was taken off television for personal reasons, but Jojo ultimately left WWE in 2021. PWInsider reported that she was actually released quietly.
Since then, Jojo had been living a quiet life with Bray Wyatt (real name Windham Lawrence Rotunda) until his unfortunate passing in 2023. Jojo has expressed in the past that she would definitely come back when the time was right.
“It’s always in the back of my mind that it’s something I want to do.” Jojo told a fan during a Southern Wrestling Autographs virtual signing. “I strongly believe that when the time is right, when the moment is right, it’s something that hopefully I can get back to, but I’d say I miss it, I miss traveling, I miss the kind of family that you create when you’re there. But I also love my life with my kids. But I would never say never. I’d love to get back to it. Especially now, they’re old enough.
They’re in a place where they’re going to school, so I’m trying to kind of find my own rhythm, my own kind of thing to do again. It’s all new to me, it’s a scary thing, but I think that I would love to get back in the business. If I were, I definitely want to kind of explore more of the character aspect of it more than announcing only. I never got to show that side of me yet, so it’s kind of unknown to everyone what could be done."
Perhaps Jojo will do more than just announcing in AEW. I don’t know about her promo skills, but she would make a great valet/manager if she does have the acting chops down.
