During Friday night's episode of SmackDown, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch exchanged their RAW and SmackDown Women's Championships after being drafted to different brands. The segment was a strange one, with The Queen dropping her title on the floor when "The Man" attempted to take it from her.

Since then, we've learned that Flair went into business for herself after originally objecting to how the segment was mapped out. Concerned she would look weak if Lynch took her championship before throwing the blue brand's belt at her, it seems Flair decided to drop it in an effort to make her old rival look back and to protect her character's image. Backstage, this led to a verbal altercation between the two women, with Flair swearing that it was an accident.

It sounds like no one really bought that, though, and things got so heated (but not physical) that Flair was escorted from the building by security. Since then, it's been reported that Flair is not liked backstage and that Lynch received unanimous praise for standing up to someone who it seems has grown increasingly concerned with protecting herself at the expense of others.

This would certainly explain what happened in that match with Flair and Nia Jax on RAW a few weeks back, and it appears The Queen has grown increasingly isolated backstage.

Multiple outlets are reporting lots of different claims about what happened (including Vince McMahon being upset with Flair), but the gist is that Flair took it upon herself to change the segment and "one-up" Lynch in a way that protected herself. There's already been speculation this apparent unhappiness on Flair's behalf could lead to an AEW debut, but it sounds like she still a lot of time on her contract before joining future husband Andrade El Idilo becomes a real possibility.

WWE has since edited Flair's actions out of replays of the show.
