Dillon Danis claims that he can easily submit Khamzat Chimaev.

If there’s one thing about Dillon Danis is that the man certainly doesn’t lack any confidence. Danis has been fighting professionally in MMA since 2018 and he’s currently undefeated. Danis holds a record of 3 - 0, with his latest win coming over Warren Spencer at Misfits 22 – Ring of Thrones in August.

He actually flatten the guy within 15 seconds, which is certainly impressive. But does that make him good enough to submit Khamzat Chimaev? Danis certainly thinks so. The 32-year-old went on Demetrious Johnson’s MightyCast, and they talked about the current UFC landscape and Danis feels that he can everyone.

“Do I go to the UFC?” Danis said. “I could beat Islam [Makhachev]. I could beat Jon Jones. I could beat all these guys. Who’s the ‘85 champ? I don’t even know. … I would bet you every money in my bank account against your bank account that I would beat his ass.”

Then the conversation turned over to the current UFC Middleweight Champion. Chimaev is currently 15 - 0 with some of those wins coming over Robert Whittaker, Kamaru Usman, and Dricus du Plessis; however, despite his wins over the top fighters in the 185 pound division, Danis feels that he could submit the guy with ease.

“Look at ‘Durinho,’ the way that he fought Khamzat is the way that you beat him,” Danis said. “You have to have good jiu-jitsu. You can’t turtle and then go against the fence or you’re going to get sat there all day. You have to play guard against him and no one in the division has a good guard. The only person that has a chance is [de Ridder] because he has good jiu-jitsu. But it would be an easy fight for me. I would submit him off my back, easily.”

Danis is ready to fight and hoping that it’s with the UFC soon. He even said that he’s willing to take an easy layup like Kevin Holland.

“I think it’s December,” Danis said of his potential next fight. “I want to fight tomorrow. I’m ready to fight, I didn’t take any damage. I wish I could fight someone on the street or some shit. I want to fight so bad, I’m ready to go. I’m so pumped up. But if UFC comes around and they’re like, ‘Hey listen, we’ll give you nice easy layup like Kevin Holland’ or something, I’ll do it. It depends, we’ll see where negotiations go right now.”

Dana White talked about Dillon Danis on the Full Send podcast and it was a clear no then.

“I have no beef with the kid at all, I’ve probably said two words to him in my whole life,” White explained on the Full Send Podcast. “But every time he’s around, s***’s going down. We can’t have that stuff going on here. A lot of people will see when guys get into it on stage or something starts to happen, they’re like ‘Oh, they must love this’ or whatever. No. No, we don’t love it.”

That was two years ago. Times could have changed. While Danis is greatly overexaggerating that he could beat any of the names that he just listed, it wouldn’t be surprising if Dana changed his mind about Danis and gave him a shot down the line if he continued to give performances like he did at Misfits boxing.
