Sean Strickland has officially been suspended!
The Nevada State Athletic Commission has finally made their decision and determined to suspend the former UFC Middleweight Champion for six months for attacking Luis Hernandez at Tuff-N-Uff 145 back in June. Strickland was also fined $5,000.
To recall, this whole situation escalated after Hernandez taunted Sean and his corner during his fight against Miles Hunsinger. Strickland was one of the cornermen for Hunsinger and he didn’t take too kindly to Hernandez’s “disrespect”. So once Luis got the submission win over Miles then Strickland stormed the ring and threw some punches at the fighter.
The situation was defused very quickly and Hernandez was barely touched during the altercation. Hernandez actually didn’t want any charges pressed against Strickland, but The Nevada State Athletic Commission wasn't going to let Sean get away with this.
His suspension will end on December 29th, and though Sean has been pretty quiet over the situation, Nevada Athletic Commission Chairman Dallas Haun commended Sean for his cooperation and taking accountability over his actions. Strickland will also pay $157.04 for attorney fees related to his suspension.
But the 34-year-old wasn't the only one who was punished here.
Chris Curtis will also have to fork over $2,500 for his role in the scrap in June. He’s not suspended like Strickland, but he will have to pay the same attorney fees.
But worry not as Sean may still end up fighting before December.
That’s because HS Tikky Tokky has offered Strickland 40K to spar with him on stream. Now Strickland has a history of beating up influencers in the past and HS Tikky Tokky is up for the challenge.
“I’ll pay you to appear on steam and we’ll have a spar, a boxing spar,” HS Tikky Tokky said in a clip reposted by IFN Boxing. “As soon as my hand’s fixed. I’ll pay you 40k for a spar. I will take you out. I will take you out, I promise you.
“Just a light little spar, 16 ounce gloves, 18 ounce gloves, I will take you out, okay. I would dog walk Sean Strickland, yeah, I would dog walk this guy man. He’s a nobody.”
Honestly, it would be surprising if Strickland didn’t take the offer. Thus far, Sean has not responded to the challenge. He’s been active on social media, for better or worse.
