Another lightweight bout is confirmed for UFC Fight Night Oklahoma City as Edson Barboza will take on Josh Emmett on May 2.
Barboza is in need of a win as the lightweight has lost back-to-back fights to Justin Gaethje and Paul Felder. The UFC veteran hasn't faired too well inside of the octagon in his last five fights, with Barboza’s one victory being against Dan Hooker at UFC Fight Night Milwaukee. His professional record currently stands at 20 wins and 8 losses.
Emmett enters the contest with some solid momentum as the lightweight is coming off wins over Mirsad Bektić and Michael Johnson. Despite suffering a devastating loss to Jeremy Stephens at UFC Fight Night Orlando, the 35-year-old has won four out of his last five fights. Emmett’s professional record currently stands at 15 wins and 2 losses.
UFC Oklahoma City is scheduled to take place at Chesapeake Energy Arena, with middleweights Jack Hermansson and Chris Weidman headlining the show.
