A new flyweight bout was added to UFC 323.

The final UFC pay-per-view is quickly coming together as Dana White has just announced two blockbuster title fights that will see Merab Dvalishvili and Alexandre Pantoja defend their respective titles. However, the flyweight fight that been confirmed is between Brandon Moreno and Tatsuro Taira.

Brandon Moreno is slowly rebuilding his resume after losing the UFC Flyweight Championship to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC 290. The former two-time flyweight champion slipped back in the rankings due to his follow-up loss to Brandon Royval. However, Moreno was able to regain some momentum with unanimous decision wins over Amir Albazi (at UFC Fight Night 246) and Steve Erceg (at UFC on ESPN: Moreno vs. Erceg). Moreno is currently ranked at No. 2 in the 125-pound division. His MMA record currently stands at 23 wins, 8 losses, and 2 draws.

Tatsuro Taira is making a quick turnaround following a huge win over Park Hung-sung at UFC on ESPN: Taira vs. Park. That win helped him get back into the win column after he came up short against Brandon Royval via split decision. Before that loss, Taira was undefeated as the flyweight for seven years, beating names such as Edgar Chairez (by unanimous decision at UFC 290), Carlos Hernandez (by TKO at UFC Fight Night: Song vs. Gutiérrez), Alex Perez (by TKO at UFC on ESPN: Perez vs. Taira ) which resulted in 16 wins and 0 losses.

Despite his recent setback, Taira won the last five out of his six fights by TKO and submission. Taira currently ranks at number five in the flyweight division. His professional record currently stands at 17 wins and 1 loss.

That fight joins the recently announced UFC Bantamweight and Flyweight title bouts for the final UFC pay-per-view of 2025. Interestingly enough, Joshua Van actually called out Moreno for UFC Noche in September, but that bout never came to fruition. However, it Van stated during his media interview at UFC 316 that he wanted to fight a former Flyweight Champion. Luckily for him, he gets to challenge for the belt instead.
