A new flyweight bout has been confirmed for UFC 250 as Jussier Formiga will take on Alex Perez.
Formiga is hoping to bounce back after suffering back-to-back losses to Joseph Benavidez (via TKO at UFC on ESPN 3) and Brandon Moreno (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 170). Despite his recent losses, the flyweight has won three out of his last five fights, besting Ben Nguyen (via technical submission at UFC 221), Sergio Pettis (via unanimous decision at UFC 229), and Deiveson Figueiredo (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 148). Formiga’s professional record currently stands at 23 wins and 7 losses.
Perez is currently riding a two-fight winning streak on the other hand, with the flyweight beating Mark De La Rosa (via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 2) and Jordan Espinosa (via technical submission at UFC Fight Night 166). Since joining the promotion in 2017, Perez has only lost one match-up, which was against Joseph Benavidez via TKO at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale in 2018. His professional record currently stands at 23 wins and 5 losses.
UFC 250 takes place on Saturday, June 6 from a location to be announced at with a main event to be announced.
