Alistair Overeem will make his return to the octagon as the heavyweight is set to headline the fight night show on September 5 against Augusto Sakai.

Overeem is coming off a knockout win over Walt Harris at UFC on ESPN 8. Overeem has won three out of his last five fights, also beating Alexey Oleinik (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 149) and Sergei Pavlovich (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 141). The heavyweight’s professional record currently stands at 46 wins, 18 losses, and 1 no contest.

Augusto Sakai is currently on a six-fight winning streak, with his recent victory being over Blagoy Ivanov via split decision at UFC on ESPN 9. Since joining the UFC after his stint on Dana White’s Contender Series, Sakai has yet to be beaten within the promotion, with his most notable wins being over Chase Sherman (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 137) and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 150). Sakai’s professional record currently stands at 15 wins, 1 loss, and 1 no contest.
