A huge light heavyweight bout is confirmed as the main event for the fight night show on September 12 as former UFC Light Heavyweight contender Thiago Santos will take on Glover Teixeira.

Santos is coming back after recovering from double knee surgery, which was an injury that he received in his loss against Jon Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight title. Still, Santos has an impressive record as the Brazilian has won four out of his last five fights, most notably against Jan Błachowicz at UFC Fight Night 145. His professional record is 21 wins and 7 losses.

Glover Teixeira is coming off a dominant performance over Anthony Smith at UFC Fight Night 171. The veteran is currently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak, also beating Karl Roberson (via submission at UFC Fight Night 143), Ion Cuțelaba (via submission at UFC Fight Night 150), and Nikita Krylov (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 158). Teixeira’s professional record stands at 31 wins and 7 losses.

UFC Fight Night: Santos vs. Teixeira takes place on Saturday, September 12 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with the two light heavyweights headlining.
