UFC Perth has just lost a big co-main event.

Junior Tafa vs. Ibo Aslan was scheduled for next Saturday's show, but now that bout has been removed from the line-up due to injury. As of this writing, it’s unknown which one of the athletes pulled out of the fight. There’s no word on whether UFC intends to add a new fight as the co-main event or simply move forward with the 14-fight card.

Heading into the bout, both Light Heavyweights were in a desperate need of a win. For Tafa, the 28-year-old is coming off a loss to Tuco Tokkos via submission at UFC on ESPN: Lewis vs. Teixeira. That continued a mixed bag in his UFC career where Tafa has only won two out of his four UFC fights. His two victories against Parker Porter (at UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs. The Korean Zombie) and Sean Sharaf (at UFC Fight Night: Royval vs. Taira) were two impressive knockout wins. Still, Tafa’s professional record currently stands at 6 wins and 4 losses.

Aslan is currently in the midst of a two-fight skid. The 29-year-old came into the UFC hot through Dana White’s Contender series and maintained his winning streak thanks to wins over Anton Turkalj (by TKO at UFC on ESPN: Blanchfield vs. Fiorot) and Raffael Cerqueira (by TKO at UFC 308), but his loss to Ion Cuțelaba shattered his impressive six-fight winning streak and he’s been stuck in the loss column ever since. Aslan’s professional record currently stands at 14 wins and 3 losses.

As of now, UFC Perth has 14 fights. Previous UFC Light Heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes will headline the show against Carlos Ulberg. Other fighters expected on the card: Neil Magny, Justin Tafa, Jimmy Crute, Ivan Erslan, and Jack Jenkins. Check out the updated card.
