A new lightweight contest has been added to the UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik event on August 8 as Nasrat Haqparast with take on Alex Munoz at the fight night event. MMA Junkie confirmed the match-up, though the bout has yet to be made official.
Haqparast suffered a loss to Drew Dober at UFC 246 that snapped a strong three-fight winning streak. Going in, the lightweight had victories over Marc Diakiese (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 134), Thibault Gouti (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 138), and Joaquim Silva (via KO at UFC on ESPN 5). Despite the recent setback, Haqparast still holds a solid professional record of 11 wins and 3 losses.
Munoz will be making his UFC debut here as the lightweight has previously competed in Trinity Sport Combat, Back Alley Promotions, and Evolution of Fighters. The 30-year-old was successful in his bout against Nick Newell during season two of Dana White’s Contender Series. Munoz’s professional record currently stands at 6 wins and 0 losses.
