A middleweight bout has been added to UFC 250 as Ian Heinisch will face Gerald Meerschaert.
Following his knockout victory over Justin Sumter on Dana White’s Contender Series, Heinisch started his UFC career off hot by getting victories over Cezar Ferreira (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 140) and Antônio Carlos Júnior (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 152); however, the 31-year-old would go on to suffer back-to-back losses to Derek Brunson (via unanimous decision at UFC 241) and Omari Akhmedov (via unanimous decision at UFC 245). Heinisch’s professional record currently stands at 13 wins and 3 losses.
Meerschaert is looking to continue building up momentum after his submission win over Deron Winn at UFC 248. The middleweight hasn’t had much luck in his last five fights as his only other victory is over Trevin Giles at UFC on ESPN 5. His losses against Jack Hermansson (via submission at UFC on Fox 31), Kevin Holland (via split decision at UFC on ESPN 2), and Eryk Anders (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 161) have knocked him out of the top 15 rankings. Meerschaert’s professional record currently stands at 31 wins and 12 losses.
UFC 250 takes place on Saturday, June 6 from an undisclosed location with no main event announced at this time.
