A light heavyweight bout is set for the UFC 252 pay-per-view as Magomed Ankalaev will take on Ion Cutelaba.
Cutelaba will get a chance to rebound from his first controversial encounter against Magomed Ankalaev at UFC Fight Night Norfolk. Despite his loss to Ankalaev, the light heavyweight has managed to win three out of his last five fights, beating Henrique da Silva (via KO at UFC Fight Night 110), Gadzhimurad Antigulov (via TKO at UFC on Fox 30), and Khalil Rountree Jr. (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 160). Cutelaba’s professional record currently stands at 15 wins, 5 losses, and 1 no contest.
Ankalaev is looking to extend his four-fight winning streak, with the light heavyweight also getting victories over Marcin Prachnio (via KO at UFC Fight Night 136), Klidson Abreu (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 145), and Dalcha Lungiambula (via KO at UFC Fight Night 163). The only setback on Ankalaev’s record thus far is against Paul Craig at UFC Fight Night 127. His professional record currently stands at 13 wins and 1 loss.
UFC 252 takes place on Saturday, August 15 with Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight title headlining. The placement of the light heavyweight bout has yet to be determined.
