A big rematch has been set for the UFC Fight Night card on July 11 as former Strawweight Champions Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas will clash at the event.
Andrade is coming off her devastating title loss against Zhang Weili at UFC Fight Night 157. Prior to the defeat, the former UFC Strawweight Champion was in the midst of a strong four-fight winning streak by beating Cláudia Gadelha (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 117), Tecia Torres (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 28), Karolina Kowalkiewicz (via KO at UFC 228), and Rose Namajunas (via KO at UFC 237). Andrade’s professional record currently stands at 20 wins and 7 losses.
Namajunas will be fighting for the first time since her shocking loss to Andrade for the Women’s Strawweight Title at UFC 237. Prior to the surprising defeat, Namajunas was on a three-fight winning streak by beating Michelle Waterson (via submission at UFC on Fox 24) and Joanna Jędrzejczyk (UFC 217 and UFC 223). The strawweight’s professional record currently stands at 8 wins and 4 losses.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, July 11 with a location and main event soon to be announced.
