A new strawweight contest has been set for the fight night event on Oct. 3 as Loma Lookboonmee will face Jinh Yu Frey. MMA Junkie first reported the news; however, officials have yet to announce the match-up publicly.

Lookboonmee is looking to rebound from her loss to Angela Hill at UFC Fight Night 168. In total, the strawweight has only one victory in the promotion thus far as the 24-year-old has beaten Aleksandra Albu via split decision. The UFC newcomer’s professional record currently stands at 4 wins and 2 losses.

Jinh Yu Frey failed to beat Kay Hensen in her debut match-up at UFC on ESPN 12. Coming in, the strawweight was on a one-fight winning streak thanks to her victory over Ashley Cummins at Invicta FC 39. Still, Frey has more wins than losses as the 35-year-old has three victories in her last five fights. Frey’s professional record currently stands at 9 wins and 5 losses.

Lookboonmee vs. Frey is the first matchup to be reported for UFC’s Oct. 3 event. At the moment, the fight night show has an unknown location and main event at this time.
