Matt Schnell vs. Tyson Nam is reportedly in the works.

Multiple sources in MMA Fighting confirmed that the flyweight bout is being set for the UFC event on September 12, which is expected to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Schnell enters the contest following his knockout loss to Alexandre Pantoja at UFC Fight Night 165. Prior to the devastating loss, the flyweight was on a solid four-fight winning streak with wins over Marco Beltrán (via unanimous decision at UFC 216), Naoki Inoue (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 132), Louis Smolka (via submission at UFC Fight Night 146), and Jordan Espinosa (via submission at UFC on ESPN 5). Schnell’s professional record currently stands at 14 wins and 5 losses.

Nam is fresh off his victory over Zarrukh Adashev at UFC on ESPN 10 last month. Overall, the flyweight has only managed to win one bout in his UFC career thus far as Nam has been beaten by Sergio Pettis (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 159) and Kai Kara-France (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 168). Nam’s professional record currently stands at 19 wins and 11 losses.
