A new welterweight bout has been confirmed.
But this is a huge welterweight fight as Sean Brady is fresh off his win over Leon Edwards back in March. Though former UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad shattered his undefeated streak, Sean has been slowly rising through the ranks thanks to his incredible performances. In Sean’s last six fights, he’s won four of them via submission. Brady is currently ranked at number two within the division and his professional record stands at 18 wins and 1 loss.
However, Michael Morales steps into this fight undefeated. The rising welterweight got the biggest win of his career in May as he beat Gilbert Burns via TKO. Since joining the UFC because of Dana White’s Contender Series, Michael Morales has quickly risen through the ranks by beating top names such Jake Matthews and Neil Magny. He’s currently ranked at number eight in the 170-pound division. The welterweight’s professional record stands at 18 wins and 0 losses.
The welterweight bout just adds onto a stacked Madison Square Garden show where two title fights will headline the historic show. In the co-main event, Zhang Weili vacated the UFC Strawweight Title to fight Valentina Shevchenko for the Women’s Flyweight title. In the main event, Islam Makhachev vacated the UFC Lightweight Championship to take on Jack Della Maddalena for the UFC Middleweight title on November 15.
