A new welterweight bout has been added to the UFC Fight Night event on August 8 as Tim Means will take on Laureano Staropoli. Even though the bout has yet to be made public, MMA Junkie was the first to confirm the welterweight clash.
Means is hoping to bounce back after his loss to Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 167. The welterweight’s record in his last five fights is a mixed bag, with Means only getting two wins over Ricky Rainey (via TKO at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale) and Thiago Alves (via submission at UFC on ESPN 7). Overall, Means’ professional record currently stands at 29 wins, 12 losses, and 1 no contest.
Laureano Staropoli is also looking to get back into the win column as the welterweight suffered a loss against Muslim Salikhov at UFC Fight Night 162. Before the crushing defeat, Staropoli was on a hot seven-fight winning streak, with his most notable wins coming over Thiago Alves (via unanimous decision at UFC 237) and Hector Aldana (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 140). His professional record currently stands at 9 wins and 2 losses.
