Will Alexander Volkanovski become a two-time champ?
The former UFC Featherweight Champion has had a string of bad luck. The 36-year-old successfully defended the featherweight title five times. But his bad luck came when he challenged Islam Makhachev for the UFC Lightweight title. Volkanovski suffered his first loss against Makhachev and the 155-pound champ would deliver a second loss in a rematch.
Following the UFC 294 bout, Volkanovski would finally lose the featherweight title to Ilia Topuria. Right now, Alexander is in the midst of a two-fight skid and it doesn't help that he’s facing a man who is on an incredible winning streak.
For the first time in Diego Lopes’ career, he’s challenging for the 145-pound belt and the 30-year-old is coming in hot with a five-fight winning streak. The only blemish on Lopes’ record was a loss to Movsar Evloev at UFC 288. Still, he’s only lost one fight in his UFC career and his current record stands at 26 wins and 6 losses.
Michael Chandler is looking to bounce back following his loss to Charles Olivera at UFC 309. The former Bellator Lightweight World Champion actually hasn’t won a fight in three years. Part of that was due to all of his time waiting for Connor McGregor. Nevertheless, Chandler has a chance to regain some momentum against a rising UFC star. Chandler’s record currently stands at 23 wins and 9 losses.
Paddy Pimblett hasn’t lost a fight in seven years. The rising star is currently undefeated in the UFC, with his biggest victory coming over former UFC Interim Lightweight Champion Tony Ferguson. This is Paddy’s biggest test to date and should he beat Chandler then It’ll help boost his divisional rankings. Paddy Pimblett’s record currently stands at 22 wins and 3 loses.
