Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier will face off one more time.
Back on July 7, 2018, Daniel Cormier first fought the Ohio native and the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion pulled off a quick knockout victory against Miocic in the first round.
This effectively ended Stipe Miocic’s reign as the 235-pound champion, who had successfully defended the title against Alistair Overeem (via KO at UFC 203) , Junior dos Santos (via TKO at UFC 211), and Francis Ngannou (via unanimous decision at UFC 220) before dropping the belt to the veteran at UFC 226.
Fast forward to a year later, the two heavyweights clashed once again and Stipe Miocic managed to reclaim the championship after a devastating fourth round TKO at UFC 241. Now, the top two contenders of the division will collide once again on August 15 for the UFC Heavyweight title. This will be the final match-up between Cormier and Miocic.
Also on the pay-per-view card, former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar will make his return to take on Pedro Munhoz and Sean O’Malley will step into the octagon against veteran Marlon Vera. Check out the uploaded trailer for UFC 252 next month:
