Another fight has been made for May 13 as former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski will take on former PFL Heavyweight Tournament Champion Philipe Lins. Originally, the two heavyweights were scheduled to fight at UFC on ESPN+ 32 on May 2; however, that event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Arlovski is hoping to start bouncing back from the slump that he’s currently in. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion hasn’t managed to get back-to-back wins since 2018, with his only victory since then being against Ben Rothwell at UFC on ESPN 4. Andrei is coming off a loss to Jairzinho Rozenstruik via knockout at UFC 244. Arlovski’s professional record currently stands at 28 wins and 19 losses.
On the other hand, Lins is currently in the midst of a four-fight winning streak, besting Alex Nicholson, Caio Alencar, Jared Rosholt, and Josh Copeland during the 2018 season of the Professional Fighters League. The 34-year-old has also made a name for himself in Bellator MMA, Bitetti Combat, and Rockstrike Fighting Tournament. Lins hasn’t lost a bout since Bellator 182 to Vadim Nemkov back in 2017. His professional record currently stands at 14 wins and 3 losses.
The May 13 event takes place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Fla. The main card is expected to air on ESPN and stream on ESPN+.
