Aspen Ladd is officially off the fight night card this weekend.
The bantamweight was set to fight Sara McMann on June 27; however, Ariel Helwani of ESPN broke the news that Ladd suffered a torn ACL and MCL in training. According to Dave Hirschbein (Ladd’s manager), The 25-year-old is expected to find out whether she’ll need surgery or not on Tuesday.
As for McMann, the bantamweight is expected to remain on the card as officials are still searching for a replacement. As of this writing, there’s no word on who McMann could face this Saturday inside of the UFC Apex. The 39-year-old is coming into the fight with some momentum after dropping Lina Länsberg at UFC Fight Night 166.
UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the two lightweights headlining. Viviane Araujo vs. Jennifer Maia and Brendan Allen vs. Kyle Daukaus are also some of the featured bouts on the card.
