After being moved to the main card of UFC 246, Brian Kelleher and Ode Osbourne put on an exciting, but brief showing for the crowd.
Osbourne was making his UFC debut after an impressive win on the Contender Series. He came out aggressive, nailing Kelleher with a hard Superman punch that set the tone.
Kelleher, a veteran with nearly 30 fights, remained calm and answered the aggressiveness by wrapping up the arms of Osbourne and taking the fight to the canvas. Kelleher worked a solid ground-and-pound from the top position, while Osbourne fought back with some hard elbows. The scrum continued for a few moments before Kelleher locked in a tight guillotine that forced Osbourne to tap.
The win moves Kelleher to 20-10 overall, but more importantly, snaps a two-fight losing streak.
"I know they were looking at it like, ok where is Kelleher at, does he still deserve to be here, so I had to show them that I belong here," Kelleher said after the fight.
