A featherweight match-up has been rescheduled for the UFC Fight Night card on January 16 as Brian Kelleher will take on Ricky Simon at the event.
Kelleher bounced back into the win column as the featherweight got a submission win over Ray Rodriguez at UFC Fight Night 176. Before Kelleher’s two-fight winning streak was snapped by Cody Stamann at UFC 250, the 34-year-old beat Hunter Azure (via KO at UFC Fight Night: Smith vs. Teixeira) and Ode Osbourne (via submission at UFC 246). Kelleher’s professional record currently stands at 22 wins and 11 losses.
Ricky Simon is coming off an impressive victory over Ray Borg at UFC Fight Night 171. The much needed win snapped his two-fight losing streak as the featherweight suffered back-to-back losses against Urijah Faber (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 155) and Rob Font (via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 7). Still, Simon has a solid record as he’s won three out of his last five fights, also dropping Montel Jackson (via unanimous decision at UFC 227) and Rani Yahya (via unanimous decision at UFC 234). His professional record currently stands at 16 wins and 3 losses.
The first confirmed UFC bout in 2021 is rumored to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. There’s no word on the placement of the featherweight bout.
