UFC icon Jon Jones is hoping to regain his light heavyweight title from Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 this weekend but he's already got his sights on a future opponent. That is Brock Lesnar, the current WWE Universal Champion and a man who it's thought will return to the octagon at some point in the next six months or so.
It was during a recent Facebook Live chat that Jones said, "It would be a massive draw, really big for the sport. It would be a great challenge. That’s a big old boy. I doubt Brock Lesnar would take that fight, though," and as you might expect, Lesnar has something to say about that!
"Would I fight Jon Jones? Anytime, anywhere," The Beast tells the Associated Press. "Right now he should be worried about D.C. on Saturday night."
Lesnar isn't someone who takes the time to answer questions from journalists so the fact he's chosen to respond could be a sign that the groundwork is being laid for these two UFC competitors to clash. Jones has previously managed to bulk up to the 235lb range and Lesnar cuts to 265lb, so a fight between these two would definitely be competitive.
It's definitely something of a mismatch, though, so whether or not it will happen remains to be seen.
