A women’s strawweight bout is confirmed for the UFC Fight Night card on July 15 as Carla Esparza will take on Marina Rodriguez.

Esparza hopes to extend her three-fight winning streak as the strawweight owns victories over Virna Jandiroba (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 150), Alexa Grasso (via majority decision at UFC Fight Night 159) and Michelle Waterson (via split decision at UFC 249).

The 32-year-old hasn't been beaten since her bout against Tatiana Suarez at UFC 228 on September 8, 2018. The inaugural UFC Strawweight Champion is surely looking to get back into the title hunt and a win over Rodriguez will help her climb the top 15 rankings. Esparza’s professional record currently stands at 16 wins and 6 losses.

Despite two draws against Randa Markos (UFC Fight Night 137) and Cynthia Calvillo (UFC on ESPN 7), the strawweight has been on tear throughout the division, with her latest wins coming over Jessica Aguilar (via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 2) and Tecia Torres (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 156). Rodriguez’s professional record currently stands at 12 wins, 0 losses, and 2 no contests.

The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, July 15 with a location and main event set to be confirmed very soon.
