The thrilling clash between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington is now available for free.
Going in, Usman was fresh off his dominant performance against Tyron Woodley at UFC 235, which saw him pick up the UFC Welterweight title that night. Known as “The Nigerian Nightmare”, Usman hasn’t lost a fight since 2013, with the UFC Welterweight Champion in the midst of a massive 14-fight winning streak by dropping top names such as Leon Edwards (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 17), Demian Maia (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 129), and Rafael dos Anjos (via unanimous decision at The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters Finale). His professional record going into the bout was 15 wins and 1 loss.
Despite being known as a controversial figure outside of the octagon, Covington has strong accolades in his own right as the welterweight rose through the ranks by beating Demian Maia (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 119), Rafael dos Anjos (via unanimous decision at UFC 225), and Robbie Lawler (via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN 5). The 32-year-old was in the midst of a 7-fight winning streak, with his record standing at 15 wins and 1 loss.
Arguably the best fight of both men’s careers, Usman and Covington went out there and fought a war inside of the octagon. Usman ultimately won in the fifth round via technical knockout; however, Covington looked great in defeat. Check out the exciting bout below:
