Another fight involving Nate Diaz has been uploaded, with the Stockton native earning a chance to fight then lightweight champion Benson Henderson in Seattle, Washington months later.
Following his back-to-back losses to Dong Hyun Kim (via unanimous decision at UFC 125) and Rory MacDonald (via unanimous decision at UFC 129), Diaz adjusted his game plan and started regaining momentum by scoring an impressive submission victory over Takanori Gomi (UFC 135) and then a unanimous decision win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 141.
Since UFC 100, Miller was racking up wins with the most notable being against Gleison Tibau (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 22), Charles Oliveira (via submission at UFC 124), and Kamal Shalorus (via TKO at UFC 128). In total, Miller had a seven-fight winning streak before Benson Henderson beat him in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The lightweight was able to bounce back quickly with a submission victory over Melvin Guillard at UFC on FX 1. The New Jersey native was one of the top fighters in the 155-pound division as Miller is a former CF Lightweight Champion (Cage Fury Fighting Championships) and RF Lightweight Champion (Reality Fighting).
Both fighters were looking to get a chance at being the top dog of the lightweight division; however, in order to face Benson Henderson, then Diaz and Miller had to go through one another. Check out Diaz getting an impressive submission win over Miller below:
