Check out Petr Yan’s stunning knockout over Urijah Faber.
After originally retiring from the sport in 2016, the UFC Hall of Famer made a successful return against Ricky Simon at UFC Fight Night 155 in July 2019. Overall, Faber had won three out of his last five fights, also beating Frankie Saenz (via unanimous decision at UFC 194) and Brad Pickett (via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 22). In his return, Faber displayed the same skills that he displayed when holding the WEC Featherweight Championship. Going into his fight against Yan, the veteran’s professional record was 35 wins and 10 losses.
Yan came into the match on a massive 8-fight winning streak with the bantamweight notably beating John Dodson (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 145), Jimmie Rivera (via unanimous decision at UFC 238), and Douglas Silva de Andrade (via TKO at UFC 232). The Russia native hasn’t been defeated since 2016; however, Faber would be the toughest challenge for the rising star’s career. Yan entered with a professional record of 13 wins and 1 loss.
Not surprisingly, Faber put up one hell of fight; however, Yan managed to gain control of the later rounds with the bantamweight officially dropping the 41-year-old with a devastating kick. Check out the stunning knockout below:
