A bantamweight bout between Chris Gutierrez and Luke Sanders is in the works for UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana on August 1st. The fight is not finalized, though paperwork is expected to be issued shortly. MMA Junkie is the first to report the potential match-up.
Gutierrez is currently in the midst of a solid three-fight winning streak with the bantamweight getting victories over Ryan MacDonald (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 148), Geraldo de Freitas Jr. (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 156), and Vince Morales (via TKO at UFC on ESPN 9). The only setback that the 29-year-old suffered was against Raoni Barcelos at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. His professional record currently stands at 15 wins and 4 losses.
Sanders managed to bounce back with a knockout win over Renan Barão at UFC on ESPN 1. Since then, the bantamweight has been out due to injury. Sanders has only managed to win two fights out of his last five, with his other victory being against Patrick Williams (via unanimous decision at UFC on FOX 29). His professional record currently stands at 13 wins and 2 losses.
