A new welterweight bout has been confirmed for UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. Jung as Claudio Silva will take on Muslim Salikhov.

Silva is entering the contest on a hot 14-fight winning streak, with his latest victory coming over Cole Williams at UFC on ESPN 5. Silva has gotten impressive wins over Leon Edwards (via split decision at UFC Fight Night 56), Nordine Taleb (via submission at UFC Fight Night 130), and Danny Roberts (via submission at UFC Fight Night 147). His overall professional record currently stands at 14 wins and 1 loss.

Salikhov is fresh off a split decision win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos at UFC 251. This extended the welterweight’s streak to four wins, with Salikhov also beating Ricky Rainey (via KO at UFC on FOX 29), Nordine Taleb (via KO at UFC 242), and Laureano Staropoli (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 162). Salikhov’s professional record stands at 17 wins and 2 losses.

UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs. Jung is set for Saturday, October 17 with the two featherweights headlining the event. The placement of the welterweight bout is currently unknown.
