Colby Covington Suffers Another Devastating Loss At UFC Tampa

The controversial welterweight hoped to bounce back from his loss against Leon Edwards, but Joaquin Buckley only added another one to his record.

A new star is born.

UFC Tampa took place on Saturday evening and not even the power of Hulk Hogan’s presence could save Covington from the vicious beatdown he received from Joaquin Buckley. The doctor’s stopped the fight as Covington was no longer in condition to continue.

This puts the welterweight on a two fight losing streak. Covington has never been in a two-fight losing streak in his career. Though he's still a high level fighter, there’s no denying that Covington is not the same guy that had a seven fight winning streak several years ago.

Meanwhile, Buckley is now on a six fight winning streak, with his record currently standing at 21- 6.

In the co-main event, Cub Swanson and Billy Quarantillo went to war in the best fight of the night. It was nonstop action until Swanson ended Quarantillo with a straight right in the third round.

Cub Swanson teased retirement in his post fight interview:

“I kind of told my wife this would be the last one, so we’ll see,” Swanson told Michael Bisping. “I’m kind of old, guys. I want to say I appreciate you letting a 40-year-old dad come out and entertain you.”

Should Swanson finish off his career then the UFC veteran will go out with a record of 30-14. Swanson may have never won a belt in the UFC, but he’s one of the best names in the company who never fails to entertain everytime he steps into the octagon.
