Well, Conor McGregor is looking to fight again.
Justin Gaethje is coming off the biggest victory of his career at UFC 249 by beating Tony Ferguson for the UFC Interim Lightweight Championship, and the Arizona native made it clear that Khabib Nurmagomedov was going to be his next opponent.
The former two-division champion is looking to make sure that doesn’t happen as Conor McGregor blasted Justin Gaethje and the reigning Lightweight Champion in a random Twitter rant. Gaethje has no love for the former Lightweight Champion, as the 31-year-old called out Dana White and McGregor when “Notorious” received a title match against the undefeated champion:
McGregor has finally responded to the year-old tweet and the former two-division champion doesn’t hold back on his comments, stating that he's going to "f**king butcher" Gaethje and wear his teeth as necklace:
The heat between McGregor and Nurmagomedov is well-known at this point, with the former UFC Lightweight Champion labeling the current titleholder as an embarrassment, despite the fact the Russia native essentially dominated McGregor in their last fight:
Neither Gaethje and Nurmagomedov have responded to McGregor social media rant; however, Ali Abedelaziz – Justin’s manager – has responded to the post and pretty much sums up what the former two-division champion is trying to do:
Obviously, we’ll see how this plays out. Dana White has made it no secret that he would like to see a rematch between Nurmagomedov and McGregor, but the Lightweight Champion is confirmed to fight Gaethje next.
