Is Dana White a fan of professional wrestling?

The UFC President has been respectful of professional wrestling in the past, though he has outright stated on numerous occasions that wrestling is fake, and I don’t mean in a predetermined or scripted sense either.

But Dana White has been cool with WWE since the TKO merger. Surprisingly, he was in the front row of WrestleMania 41 and it was interesting to know whether White had become a professional wrestling fan. Well, the UFC President addressed his fandom on Logan Paul’s podcast, Impulsive, and he reveals that wrestling is something that he’s not into.

“Yeah, I’m not a fan. I don’t watch WWE. I don’t watch it. It’s not- so I’m into fighting, man. That’s what I do. You know how, when you go on Instagram and then you go on your search page, my whole search page is like street fights and that, that’s what I’m into. I am definitely- I respect the athleticism it takes. I told you (Logan Paul) when you first started doing it, I said, ‘man, you’re a hell of an athlete.’ You’re good. Yeah, it’s impressive to see what these guys do. It’s just not my thing. When I was younger, I liked it.”

But White was impressed by the huge pageantry of WrestleMania 41 as he noted about being “blown away” by the experience.

“Yeah, I was blown away. First of all, I mean, selling out, you know, the Allegiant stadium, at that time, you guys had the biggest gate in Allegiant history, which is huge. I mean, the Super Bowl was there and everything else. We just beat you with Canelo Crawford. Yeah, it’s impressive.”

In addition to MMA, White has been on a media world tour promoting Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford. That huge fight took place last week with Crawford pulling off the upset of the century by beating Canelo for the Undisputed Super Middleweight Championship.

White has been dipping into the pro wrestling world as of late as the UFC President notably criticized indie wrestlers for taking a small paycheck for jumping off ladders, while promoting that his Power Slap competition will provide that with real money.

“There is a bunch of people out there that want to get into the AEW or WWE, right? These guys will [frick]ing jump off a ladder onto a table full of tacks for $50 a night. You can come into Power Slap and make a shit load of money. These guys are all tough guys, big guys so we’re looking at these guys that wanted to be professional wrestlers and a lot of other athletes around the world to come into Power Slap.” White said on the Cutler Cast.

Perhaps if some power slapping took place during WrestleMania then the UFC CEO would’ve enjoyed the product better.
