The future of UFC pay-per-views has arrived.
Starting with UFC 236, the only way fans in the United States can now purchase a UFC pay-per-view will now be through ESPN+. Subscribers of the streaming service will be able to buy the UFC events at the reduced price of $59.99 per event.
“Today’s announcement further establishes the strength of the partnership between UFC and ESPN,” UFC president Dana White said in a statement.
“Now our fans will be able to watch all UFC events exclusively on ESPN platforms, including ESPN+, which is an innovative way to deliver fights to our young fan base. I couldn’t be more excited to work with ESPN for the next seven years. Together we’re going to do amazing things to help grow this sport.”
ESPN+ will indeed offer a bundle option as new subscribers who purchase one-year of the streaming service will get one UFC pay-per-view included for $79.99. If you’re like me or many UFC fans who go to the bar and watch the games with other rowdy patrons, the company has assured that it will still sell pay-per-views to commercial establishments like bars and restaurants.
