A new heavyweight bout is confirmed for the fight night show on August 8 as Derrick Lewis will face Aleksei Oleinik.
Lewis has managed to rebound after losing two consecutive bouts against Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight title and Junior dos Santos. The heavyweight has successfully picked up wins over Blagoy Ivanov (via split decision at UFC 244) and Ilir Latifi (via unanimous decision at UFC 247). Despite the two losses, Lewis has won three out of his last five fights. His professional record currently stands at 23 wins, 7 losses, and 1 no contest.
Oleinik is also entering the bout in the midst of a two-fight winning streak, as the heavyweight has defeated Maurice Greene (via submission at UFC 246) and Fabrício Werdum (via split decision at UFC 249). The MMA veteran has managed to score four wins in his last six fights. Oleinik’s professional record currently stands at 59 wins, 13 losses, and 1 no contest.
UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Oleinik takes place on Saturday, August 8 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with the two heavyweights headlining.
