A big heavyweight bout will headline the UFC Fight Night show in November as Curtis Blaydes will take on Derrick Lewis. ESPN first reported the news, though the match-up hasn’t been confirmed publicly.
Blaydes is fresh off his win over Alexander Volkov at UFC on ESPN 11. That victory adds onto his three consecutive wins over Justin Willis (via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 148), Shamil Abdurakhimov (via TKO at UFC 242) and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos (via TKO at UFC Fight Night 166). Overall, Blaydes stands at 14 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no contest.
Lewis is also coming off a huge win over Aleksei Oleinik and holds the record for the most knockouts in UFC. Since losing to Daniel Cormier and Junior dos Santos, the heavyweight successfully rebounded with wins over Blagoy Ivanov (via split decision at UFC 244) and Ilir Latifi (via unanimous decision at UFC 247). His professional record currently stands at 24 wins, 7 losses, and 1 no contest.
Thus far, the UFC Fight Night show headlined by the two heavyweights is set to take place on Nov. 28. The location has yet to be determined.
