Plenty of fans are frustrated with Jon Jones.

The former UFC Heavyweight Champion basically held up the division for an entire year before deciding to call it quits. Then, two weeks later, he opts to put himself back into the USADA testing pool and now he’s angling for a title shot at the White House special.

It’s a very jarring thing as Jones was seemingly done with MMA, but now, he is determined to put on the gloves and fight again. Dominick Reyes called out Jones’ odd behavior as cites how smug and arrogant the UFC star is:

“I think because he does this thing that he does, and he just strings everyone along, and he lies, and tells this and says that,” Reyes told the Pound-4-Pound podcast. “And he’s smug about it and arrogant. He’s not being genuine. We just want a genuine answer out of you, bro. Not some bullcrap string everybody a long, ‘Oh, well, maybe this, uhhhh.’ Are you going to fight or not? I think that’s what everybody’s mad about, trying to play with all of us.

“If you’re done, say you’re done. If you’re not done, say, ‘Let’s go, but I want more money, or I want this.’ That’s it. Don’t say, ‘We’ll see! There’s a big announcement coming out, and then it’s nothing. I think that’s why people were so mad.”

Reyes even recalled his fight against Jon Jones. Many pegged him as the winner of that bout, so when Jones emerged victorious fans were shocked. Reyes feels that Jones ran away from a second fight just like he ran away from fight against Tom Aspinall.

“I did!” Reyes said when asked if he wanted another shot at Jones. “If you guys don’t remember after that fight, I lobbied for the rematch for an entire year and he said, ‘Drop the belt’ and went to heavyweight. Literally that’s what happened. People forget that, too. He ran from me! He said, ‘You’re not paying me enough to fight that guy. He’s too dangerous.’ That was literally his response.”

We don’t know if Jon Jones will truly fight again. Nor do we really understand his true motivation for retiring and unretiring in a span of two weeks. People still want to see Jones fight, they just want to understand whether he will or not. Hopefully, Jones will be truly clear about his intentions going forward.
