A new bantamweight bout has been set for the upcoming fight night show on November 7 as Felipe Colares will take on Gustavo Lopez. MMA Junkie was the first to report the news, though the match-up hasn't been made public just yet.
Lopez is also hoping to get back into the win column after dropping his bout to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC on ESPN 10. Overall, the UFC newcomer has a solid record in his last five fights as he beat Vicente Marquez Enriquez (via submission at Combate Americas - Copa Combate 2018) , Jose Alday (via TKO at Combate 33) and Joey Ruquet (via KO at Combate Americas 42). His professional record currently stands at 11 wins and 5 losses.
Colares hasn’t fared too well in the UFC since his debut back in early 2019. The bantamweight came into the promotion hot with a strong nine-fight winning streak; however, Colares failed to beat Geraldo de Freitas Jr. in his debut. The former Jungle Fight Featherweight Champion rebounded with a victory over Domingo Pilarte, but his following loss to Montel Jackson sent him back down the rankings. Colares’ professional record currently stands at 9 wins and 2 losses.
