UFC 247 is arguably one of the most controversial events in the company’s history.
There were several fights where many believed that the judges got the results wrong including Andrea Lee vs. Lauren Murphy. The bout between the two flyweights was a very close and exciting back-and-forth encounter that went the distance with three rounds.
The judges ended up rewarding Murphy with the win via split decision and while many wouldn’t consider Lee being robbed for this bout due to how close each round was, the UFC Fighter believes that one of the judges wasn’t paying attention to the fight to accurately score the final round:
“We definitely plan on doing something,” Lee told
BJPENN.com Tuesday afternoon.
“I don’t know what is going to happen, the only thing that could happen is that it could be considered a no contest. I just think that it’s only fair that you have three judges that are there to watch the fight. They should be watching the entire fight, not just parts of it because there’s a lot that you can miss.”
Both Joe Rogan and Dominick Cruz also called out one of the judges for not paying attention to the encounter and now a video has surfaced supporting the claims:
Prior to the release of the video, the
Texas Department Of Licensing & Regulation (TDLR) released a statement responding to the many criticisms that the judges received on several fights on last Saturday’s pay-per-view card. As of this writing, the TDLR has not responded to the video released.
