Cody Garbrandt will make his return to the octagon at UFC 235; The former bantamweight champion hasn’t fought since his devastating loss to T.J. Dillashaw at UFC 227. Garbrandt is set to fight Pedro Munhoz at the T-Mobile Arena on March 2, which was confirmed by
MMA Fighting following a report by ESPN.
Despite his two losses against his former teammate, Cody Garbrandt holds a strong record of 11 wins and 2 losses. He’s earned victories over fighters such as Dominick Cruz, Takeya Mizugaki, and Thomas Almeida before he lost his belt in 2017.
Munhoz is coming off one of the biggest wins of his career in November, knocking out veteran Bryan Caraway in the first round at TUF 28 Finale. He holds a professional record of 17 wins and 3 losses. The former RFA bantamweight champion has won six of his last seven bouts during his tenure within the UFC thus far.
As previously reported, UFC 235 will be headlined by Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith, provided the current light heavyweight champion successfully gets his license to fight in Nevada.
