Bellator MMA has just confirmed that Liz Carmouche has signed a multi-year deal contract with the promotion. Earlier in the month, the 35-year-old was surprisingly released from the UFC; however, the backlash surrounding her departure was due to the company letting her go while she doing promotion for the UFC.

As of this writing, there’s no word on when Carmouche will fight within the promotion; however, Bellator does make it clear that she will enter the flyweight division, with her promotional debut set to take place in 2020.

Carmouche and Ronda Rousey were the first women to step inside an octagon under the UFC banner. Throughout her career, she’s gotten wins over fighters such as Jéssica Andrade, Jennifer Maia, and Lucie Pudilová. The Louisiana native enters the company with a record of 13 wins and 7 losses.
