Sergio Pettis has found a new home.
According to
Ariel Helwani of ESPN, the former UFC fighter has signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator MMA, though the specifics of his contract are unknown at this time.
Pettis was previously with the UFC for five years, debuting with a win over Will Campuzano in 2013. Since then, the Wisconsin native has had memorable bouts against Joseph Benavidez, Brandon Moreno, and Matt Hobar; Pettis had won nine of his fights under the UFC banner.
Pettis surprised many earlier this month when he decided to not renew his contract with the UFC, as he was expected to fight Kai Kara France at UFC 245. As of this writing, there’s no word on when Pettis will make his debut for Bellator. Sergio is expected to fight in the bantamweight class. His professional record going into the promotion is 18 wins and 5 losses.
