Everyone wants to fight on the UFC White House card.

First Jon Jones unretires to get a spot on the upcoming special and it now seems that Conor McGregor may step back into the octagon for the first time since 2021. The former UFC Lightweight Champion confirmed on The Schmo that he was back in the anti-doping testing pool and made it clear that his target is the White House card.

“They’re testing me,” McGregor said following the BKFC press conference in Florida. “I’m in the pool. I thought that’s what the pools were for, jumping in and out, but I’m back in the pool. So get ready and stay ready because damage will be done. Oval office. White House card.”

McGregor further confirmed it by announcing that he just gave his first blood test.

“I gave my first blood test that is what the plaster is on my shoulder. I am ECSTATIC! I’m in SHAPE!

Is Conor Mcgregor really making a return?

The 37-year-old made claims earlier this year that he was running for presidency in Ireland. Granted, there’s numerous experts that say it’s unlikely for Conor to run for presidency, but that was his goal when he went through his political run earlier this year.

It’s quite possible that Conor was never serious about it to begin with, though that’s just speculation on my end. McGregor has previously teased coming back to the octagon, notably against Michael Chandler. They were originally supposed to fight at UFC 303, but that bout was cancelled due to an injury Conor sustained while training.

The match was never rescheduled and Dana White himself confirmed that Chandler wasn’t going to be Conor’s first fight back. So if he does return at the White House show, which is reportedly scheduled for July 2026, who will he fight at the upcoming event?

Dana White isn’t thinking about the card right now since it’s too far away. The UFC CEO has stated that Conor could be on the card, so he's considering putting the former two-division champion on it.

There’s no indication on who Conor could fight; it’s doubtful that the Chandler bout will be rescheduled despite the UFC pouring so much time and advertising on it.

Nate Diaz has talked about wanting to fight Conor McGregor for the third time, but those guys have been talking about a third match for years now. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens when it is time for Dana to announce the fight card.
